Kit Additions

When ordering a ConstructionKit, we offer the following additions to complete your building kit:

Preservation steel structure

The steel structure of our standard kits has been steel blasted and is treated against corrosion with a zinc phosphate coating. This coating is alkyd based, environmentally friendly, non-toxic and provides good protection against corrosion. The coating is coloured anthracite.

For more aggressive environments, especially where there is a lot of ammoniac, or buildings located close to the sea, the more extensive treatment of hot-dip galvanisation is advised. In the treatment a protective zinc coating is applied to the steel structure by submerging the steel parts in a bath of molten zinc.

Metal Roofing: Anti-condensation fleece

Kits of type MR and MRW are equipped with trapezoidal profiled metal roof sheets. Uninsulated roofs with metal sheets could possibly suffer from condensation problems when the outside temperature is a lot cooler than inside. This is especially the case when there is little ventilation and/or when the building is fully closed. When the warm air inside the building cools on contact with the metal sheets, the air can not support the same quantity of water vapour and excess water vapour may form condensation on the underside of the sheets. This condensation can drip from the roof, wetting the building’s contents.

As an addition, a self adhesive anti-condensation fleece liner can be attached to the underside of these steel roof sheets. This prevents dripping from condensation by absorbing the moisture.

Metal Roofing: Sheet thickness and Coating

Kits of type MR and MRW are equipped with trapezoidal profiled metal sheets for the roofing. On our standard kits, these metal sheets are 0,55mm thick with an HP coating. As an additional option, we also offer these profiled metal sheets with an HPS coating in various thicknesses.

Metal Wall cladding: Sheet thickness and Coating

Kits of type MRW are equipped with trapezoidal profiled metal sheets for the wall cladding. On our standard kits, these metal sheets are 0,55mm thick with an HP coating. As an additional option, we also offer sheets of the same thickness but then with HPS coating.

Insulated Roofing: Panel thickness

Kits of type IR and IRW are equipped with trapezoidal profiled insulated roof panels which are 40/75mm thick. This means 40mm at the core (the valley) and 75mm overall (the top). These panels have a thermal value (Rc-value) of 2,00 m2K/W, and a thermal transmittance (U-value) of 0,46 W/m2K. Together with insulated walls, this should suffice to keep the building frost free in most conditions in low altitude locations.

However, in case of more extreme conditions (high altitude or close to the poles), or for example for constructing a cold store, thicker insulation may be required. For these purposes we also supply the following thicker roof panels, with insulation  values calculated in accordance with the EN14509 and NEN1068 norms:

Thickness (mm) Rc-value (m2K/W) U-value (W/m2K)
40/71 (Standard) 1,72 0,53
50/81 2,22 0,42
60/91 2,71 0,35
70/101 3,21 0,30
80/111 3,60 0,27
100/131 4,50 0,21

Insulated Wall cladding: Panel thickness

Kits of type IRW are equipped with sandwich wall panels for wall cladding which are 45mm thick. Together with the insulated roofing, these should suffice to keep the building frost free in most conditions.

However, in case of more extreme conditions (higher altitude or close to the poles), or for example for the building a cold store, thicker insulation may be required. For these purposes we also offer 60mm and 80mm thick panels, with insulation  values calculated in accordance with the EN14509 and NEN1068 norms:

Thickness (mm) Rc-value (m2K/W) U-value (W/m2K)
45 (standard) 1,72 0,53
60 2,63 0,36
80 3,60 0,27

Rain gutter

As an additional option, ConstructionKit offers three types of rain gutters, namely PVC mast gutters, galvanized steel mast gutters and polyester box gutters.

PVC mast gutters
PVC mast gutters of the well-known brand Nicoll for managing rainwater. These grey-white gutters with a width of 175mm are UV-resistant and through the addition of titanium oxide these gutters are colorfast and have a long life span. The connectors have rubber inlays to ensure a waterthight connection. PVC hanging brackets and PVC grey-white drainpipes to ground level are included.

Galvanized steel mast gutter
Galvanized steel half-round mast gutters with a width of 160mm. The gutters are connected to eachother by the application of special sealing kit. Galvanized steel hanging brackets and galvanized steel drainpipes to ground level are included.

Polyester box gutter
Fiberglass-reinforced polyester box gutters in light grey with a width of 170mm. The connectors have rubber inlays to ensure a watertight connection. Galvanized steel hanging brackets and PVC grey-white drainpipes to ground level are included.

Windows

We also offer white vinyl (PVC) window frames fitted with 24mm isolated glass. The vinyl (PVC) profiles for the window frames are of the premium German brand Kömmerling. The window frames are 70mm deep and provide good sound and heat insulation. Inside the Kömmerling profiles, additional steel tubes are fitted for extra stability.

  • Single window with fixed glass
  • Single window with tilt and turn glass
  • Double window with fixed glass
  • Double window with 1x fixed and 1x tilt and turn glass

The outside dimensions of the single window is 101 x 112 cm, and for the double window the dimensions are 201 x 112 cm.

Passing doors

We offer steel doors as well as doors with a vinyl frame (PVC) with a window in the top panel. Just as with the windows, the vinyl (PVC) profiles for the door frames are of the premium German brand Kömmerling, and additional steel tubes are fitted for extra stability.

Our double-walled flat steel doors have outside dimensions of 100 x 212 cm. The doors are fitted in a steel frame and furnished with burglarproof hinges, door handle and cylinder lock. The doors are finished with a grey primer. Once installed, most clients leave the door grey but some opt to paint the door in a different colour.

Sliding doors

Sliding doors are great for creating larger openings that are still closable. Our sliding doors are constructed from steel sandwich panels with a thickness of 40 mm, standard in a grey-white (RAL 9002) colour. The doors are hung from a steel girder of UNP profile on which is fitted a R.O.B. upper rail, hot-dip galvanised with rollers running on bearings. The rollers are made of steel wheel discs, specially designed to allow a slight tilting of the profile without the rollers being overloaded on one side. With the closed bearings of the rollers additional lubrication is no longer necessary.

ConstructKit offers sliding doors on the head end of your building, as well as on the side. Depending on the wall height of your building we offer sliding doors on head end in 3 x 3 meters, 4 x 4 meters and 5 x 5 meters.

We also offer sliding doors on the side in 6 x 2,85 meters, 6 x 3,85 meters and 6 x 4,85 meters.
